October 12, 2017: Saffron Party today delivered a major blow to CPIM in Panisagar area under North Tripura. Around 150 family members joined BJP severing association with CPIM at Jalebasa village in Panisagar while 90 families from Congress formally joined BJP. In a Parivartan Sabha today held at Jalebasa under Panisagar in North District, total 1040 voters formally joined BJP deserting CPIM and Congress.
Among others, State BJP president Biplab Deb, MLA Biswa Bandhu Sen and president of North district Bhabatosh Das attended the Sabha and welcomed the new entrants. Sources said, CPIM is the biggest loser as 150 families shunned Red flags and joined in saffron brigade while 90 families from Congress joined BJP today.
Speaking in the programme, State BJP president Biplab Deb said, there will be no progress under Left regime even if Central Government sanctions Rs 5000 crore. Keeping an eye on ensuing Assembly Polls, Deb said, “BJP, if voted into power, will create job opportunities within three years for unemployed youths and poorer section of the society”.
Erosion in the support base of CPIM is obvious and as a result of failures on multiple fronts, disgruntled CPIM supporters are joining BJP. Maintaining the trend, today as many as 150 families from CPIM have switched over to BJP and the number will swell in coming days ensuring BJP’s victory, said Biswa Bandhu Sen. He also claimed, BJP will bag 50-55 seats in the 2018 Assembly Polls.
