September 23, 2017: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, the government targets to provide shelter to every poor in urban and rural area by 2022.
Addressing a public meeting at Shahanshahpur village on the second and last day of his two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi, he said, building crores of homes will generate jobs and income.
Mr Modi participated in a sanitation related activity in the village.
The Prime Minister also distributed certificates to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana during the function.
After visiting an animal health mela, the Prime Minister said, well being of the animals is equally important for the country’s development. Saying that animals will not go to cast ballots, Mr Modi exhorted governments to look after their well-being.
He said, politics should not be limited to votes, as the country is bigger than any party.
Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Minister of State for Rural Development Mahendra Singh and BJP State Unit President Mahendra Nath Pandey were also present during the function.
Mr Modi exhorted people to build on the strides the country has made in the dairy sector. He said, Cooperatives can help in this regard, as they have in parts of the nation. (AIR News)
