Poll violence: 2 BJP supporters injured in Tripura

Agartala, April 11, 2019: Two BJP activists were injure after being assaulted allegedly by Congress supporters at Charilam today. The injured were identified as Anwar Hussain and Abhijit Roy, both are from Rajib Colony in Charilam. While Hussain is undergoing treatment at TMC at Hapania, Abhijit Roy had been admitted into GB Trauma centre with head injury. According to attending doctors, health conditions of both Hussain and Roy are stable.

Sources said, a group of Congress supporters including Anwar’s brother Jakir Hussain were preventing voters from casting votes. After getting this information Anwar and Abhijit along with other BJP supporters went to the spot to dissuade  Congress supporters from preventing voters. “All on a sudden, Congress supporters attacked us from behind in which Anwar and Abhijit were injured”, alleged one of the BJP supporters came to GB Hospital along with Abhijit .
