Chintan Shibir for preparing dev roadmap begins in Agartala

November 02, 2018: Aiming to prepare a holistic roadmap for making the Tripura a developed State in three years, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today inaugurated a three-day Chintan Shibir at Pranja Bhavan in Agartala today. During three-day discussions, experts will focus on development related issues, challenges and policies – brain storming sessions will help to cement several proposals and plans mooted by the experts. Considering the geo-politico-social aspects and economic challenges, a roadmap for development of Tripura and other NE States are likely to prepared through intensive discussions and interactions with several stack holders.

In his inaugural speech, Biplab Deb highlighted visions and plans of the Modi-Government for the holistic development of the region including Tripura.

Backed by adequate investment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision focused on creating connectivity and communication infrastructure. Under the Modi-led Government, several developmental activities are taking place North East and marching forward to become prosperous. He also outlined the purpose of Chintan Shibir and made a call to plan for sustainable development.

On developmental initiatives of the Modi-Government, Biplab Deb said, “It was Narendra Modi who made compulsory for union ministers to stay at Northeast and report him about their visit or stay there. It has a tremendous impact on the overall development of the region”.

Deb said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the mindset of the people as he did a lot to usher in developmental activities in the region. I hope the three-day session will throw out a road map for all-round development activities in the state”.

NITI Aayog member Dr. Ramgopal Agarwala hailed the State Government’s decision to involve NITI Aayog in preparing outline of development.

He said, “I do believe the brain storming session will prepare best possible ways for the state to become a model state after deliberations from experts”.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary of North Eastern Council (NEC) Ram Muivah emphasized on political stability and proper utilization of funds. He also pointed out, IT sector is making a remarkable progress in the NE region.

In the Chintan Shibir, the Chief Secretary highlighted scopes and shortcomings – advantages and challenges in course of development.
