On the day of Maha Panchami, people have taken over roads and visiting Puja Pandals. Loud speakers are blazing DJ beats in full volume while at many places old Bengali songs of Hemanta, Sandhya Mukerjee are bringing old memories alive. Since evening, full scale puja festivities gripped the city – apart from puja hoppers, people were also busy in completing last minute purchase and huge rush was observed in Surya Choumuhani, Hawkaers’ corner etc.
Children appear to be in no mood to waste a single day and dressed in colourful attire children alongwith their parents are flocking through pandals with joy and enthusiasm. While Puja organizers have brilliantly illuminated Pandals and adjacent areas, several houses have also decorated with multi-colour lights.
