Madhab Bari firing: Tripura CM orders Magistrate level probe

Agartala, Jan 10, 2019: The State Government today ordered Magistrate level probe into firing incidence at Madhab Bari in West Tripura district during NESO-sponsored 11 hour strike on January 09 last.

“The government has decided to order a Magistrate level inquiry into Madhab Bari incident and stringent punishment will be given those who are involved in the incident”, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said in a press meet in Agartala today. 

He said, West Tripura District Magistrate Sandeep Mahatme would inquire into the January 9 incidents and submit a report within the ‘shortest possible time’.

He also made it clear that those who had instigated and involved in violence would dealt with firmly and State Government would not tolerate law breaking activities. Ruling BJP’s ally, IPFT supremo and State revenue minister NC Debbarma was also present in today’s press conference.

Meanwhile, earlier in a separate press meet, IPFT leader and Tribal Welfare Minister Mebar Kumar Jamatia alleged, activists of CPI-M and INPT were behind the trouble on January 09 last. He also demanded Judicial probe into firing incident by a sitting Judge of Tripura High Court.
