Agartala, January 10, 2019: Another Bandh is coming up on weekend – as six Regional parties of Tripura – sans ruling ally IPFT – have called a 12-hour shut down in TTAADC area on January 12.
Addressing a press conference today in Agartala, leaders of INPT, NCT and IPFT (Tipraha) announced dawn to dusk strike in support of three-point demand pertaining to Madhab Bari firing incident.
Meanwhile, State administration extended suspension of Mobile net services and SMS in the State for another 48 hours today, SP Ajit Pratap Singh said.
Jagadish Debbarma of INPT, Animesh Debbarma of NCT and Binoy Debbarma of IPFT (Tipraha) today held a joint press meet in Agartala and raised four-point demand including judicial inquiry by a sitting High Court Judge into the firing incident.
Besides, leaders also demanded Rs 25 lakh compensation or a job to nearest kin of injured persons and demanded withdrawal of all the cases relating violence at Madhab Bari lodged against TSF activists.
Leaders criticized IPFT leader and Tribal Welfare Minister Mebar Kumar Jamatia’s press statement in which he accused INPT and CPI-M of conspiring violence on January 09 last. “Mebar Kumar’s accusation is baseless. We strongly oppose Mebar Kumar’s statement. He accused INPT to hush up failure of BJP-IPFT government”, leaders said.
