Agartala, September 13, 2019: The mortal remains of Rajkumari Kamal Prava Devi were consigned to flames at Battala crematorium this evening. , She passed away at 105 yesterday.
The body of late princess, mother of Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma, was flown to Agartala at the evening and received by Tourism minister Pranajit Singha Roy and others.
The body was then taken to Kunjaban residence in Agartala where the jawans of 2nd-Bn TSR offered Gun Salute. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb along with his wife Niti Vidrohi Deb paid homage to late Kamal Prava Devi and extended sympathy to the bereaved family.
In a social media message, Deb said, “Paid my last tributes to Smt. Kamal Prabha Devi, mother of Dy CM Shri @Jishnu_Devvarma ji with heavy heart at #Agartala.
People of Tripura will always remember Kamal Prabha Devi ji for her social works which she has done for the people of our State. Om Shanti”
Besides, Deputy Chief Minister Jushnu Dev Verma, Revenue Minister N.C. Debbarma, Education minister Ratanlal Nath, Agriculture minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Forest minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia and MLAs, AMC Mayor Dr. Prafullajit Sinha, Officials along with many others also paid homage to the departed soul.
The body was then taken to Rabindra Bhavan where MP Pratima Bhowmik, opposition Leader Manik Sarkar, MLA Ratan Chakraborty, TCW chairperson Barnali Goswami, Sabhadhipati of Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad Antara Sarkar Deb, ICA secretary Maniklal Dey, ICA Director Ratan Biswas, SDM Sadar Ashim Saha among others also paid homage to the late princess. After the rituals and final rites, the mortal remains of late Kamal Prava Devi were cremated in Battala crematorium.
