Amit Shah, Dr Manik Saha review Bru agreement implementation in Tripura

Shah reviewed the implementation of the agreement in New Delhi in presence of Chief Minister of Tripura Dr Manik Saha along with senior officers of central and state government.

 

According to sources, significant achievement has been made in the resettlement of Bru people displaced from Mizoram in Tripura since the signing of the agreement in January 2020.

As per the historic quadripartite agreement signed between the Government of Tripura, the Government of Mizoram, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the representatives of Bru refugees, the permanent settlement of Bru people in Tripura started on April 13, 2021.

 

The Agreement provides a comprehensive package for each family being rehabilitated.  The number of rehabilitated families in Tripura is 6,959 families with total population of 37,136.

 

So far 3696 families have been resettled and the rest are in the process of resettlement. House construction completed for 2407 families so far besides those under construction.

 

/enewstime-Amit-Shah-Manik-Saha-Bru-TripuraVarious certificates like PRTC, ST Certificates, Aadhaar card inclusion of names in the Electoral Rolls are being issued for the resettled Bru families.

 

Chief Minister of Tripura Dr Saha also met Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandviya in New Delhi today.  Both of them held detailed discussions on a wide range of issues pertaining to the improvisation of existing and the setting up of new health infrastructure in the State.

 

Notably, Tripura Government is working on decentralizing the Healthcare facilities to ensure better medical care at the District and sub-division levels. The government is working on building up the adequate infrastructure and other facilities to this end.
