Clubfoot disease: RBSK, NHM with Miraclefeet India offering treatment facilities to babies

In partnership with the Union Government’s Rashtriya Bal Swastya Karyakram (RBSK) and the National Health Mission (NHM), an NGO - Miraclefeet India is offering treatment facilities in all of the eight districts of Tripura to the babies who are suffering from the Clubfoot disease.

Clubfoot is a congenital malformation that causes a baby's feet to bend downwards or inwards.

Miraclefeet operates in 8 states namely, Uttar Pradesh, Hariyana, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharastra.  Follow-up treatment has been provided since Jun 2018.

Miralefeet conducts weekly clubfoot clinics on specific days in every district of Tripura.

Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital in Sepahijala District every Monday, Dhalai Hospital and Tepania Hospital in Gomti District every Tuesday, UPHC, Padmapur in North Tripura every Wednesday, Unkoti District Hospital and Khowai District Hospital and Bilonia District Hospital in South Tripura every Thursday, and East Jogendranagar UPHC in West Tripura District.

Several babies have started availing of the benefits of the treatment. However, lack of awareness is a major problem as many parents are unaware about the available treatment facilities in Tripura. The RBSK and NHM staffs are educating the people.

Children suffering from clubfoot are treated very easily through ponseti method  which is treated with casting, tenotomy and bracing.  It is very important to identify and bring the baby to the clinic for treatment very quickly.

Miraclefeet's Program Executives will provide free of cost foot abduction brace (FAB) and counseling support by providing information on treatment protocol, as well as advice and awareness materials.
