Govt hikes festival grant for employees, pensioners: Jishnu

The state government increased the festival grant for the employees and the pensioners, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma said on Friday.

 

Addressing a press conference, Dev Barma announced that the government employees and pensioners along with the DRWs, who were engaged with prior concurrence of the Finance department, would now get bonus of Rs. 1500. The amount was Rs.700 during the Left rule.

 

Besides, part time workers, casual workers, contractual workers, Anganwadi workers/ helpers, Home Guard and SPOs would get festival grant of Rs. 1700, Dev Varma said.

 

Speaking to the media, he said, the festival advance of Rs. 20,000 would be given to the employees in all categories including DRWs. Anganwadi workers/ helpers and Home Guards would get advance of Rs. 5000 while the ASHA workers would get Rs. 2000 (to be given by NHM).

 

Secretary of Finance Brijesh Pandey, who also attended the press conference, said that the Finance department sanctioned Rs. 566 crore from Special Assistance of the State Government. 

 

He said, the fund would be utilized for implementing various projects of healthcare, road infrastructure, education, children and women to mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and 50 years of Tripura Statehood. (Courtesy: Tripura Times)
