Integrated Check Post will be opening by December in Sabroom: CM

Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha has inaugurated different developmental schemes and construction works during his Sabroom visit on Thursday (Aug 11).

 

At first, the Chief Minister inaugurated Tertiary Waste Treatment Centre nearby Sabroom helipad. The waste treatment centre was built under Swachha Bharat Mission at the cost of Rs 1 crore 49 lakh.

 

Both biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes can be separated in the waste treatment centre. 


It also has the facility to turn these wastes into organic fertilizers. The Chief Minister said, this waste treatment centre is the largest Tertiary Waste Treatment Centre in the Northeast.

 
There should be arrangements of regular health check up for the safai workers associated with the maintenance of this waste treatment centre. 


The Chief Minister then inaugurated a passenger shed nearby Sabroom College, built at the cost of Rs 4 lakh 30 
thousand.

 

He then interacted with the students of Michael Madhusudhan Dutta College, Sabroom and enquired about the academics from the students and the teachers of the college. The college 
students tied rakhi to the Chief Minister on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

 

The Chief Minister then visited the cricket ground of the  college. Later, he unveiled the statue of Rishi Aravinda in front of the New Town Hall in Sabroom and paid floral tribute to his statue.

 

The Chief Minister also visited and enquired about the 
progress of the construction work from the officials of Integrated Check Post at the banks of River Feni. 


While speaking to the media during his visit to the Maitri Setu bridge, the Chief Minister informed that the Integrated Check Post will be opening by December in Sabroom and soon 
enough commuting on the Maitri Setu bridge will commence.

 

He also informed that he will soon be speaking with the Prime Minister and the Union Minister of Railways about starting 
an express train from Sabroom.

 

The Chief Minister then inaugurated Sabroom sun-division 
medical officers office and an intensive Covid-19 treatment centre for children at Sabroom sub-division hospital. He then handed over land pattas to 20 persons under Mukhyamantri 
Cha Shramik Prakalp through a programme.

 

Apart from that, he also handed over a wheelchair to specially abled college student Reena Das.

 

Other dignitaries present in these programmes were MLA Sankar Roy, Sabhadhipati of South Tripura Zilla Parishad Kakali Das Dutta, Chairperson of Sabroom Nagar Panchayat Rama Poddar Dey, South Tripura 
District Magistrate Saju Wahid A. and South Tripura District Police Superintendent Dr. Kulwant Singh.
