Janajati support: BJP, IPFT trigger slide in Oppn camps

The ruling alliance – BJP and IPFT – are separately working hard in the ADC areas to woo the support of the Janajati people in upcoming Assembly Polls. BJP’s campaign is being spearheaded by the indigenous wing of the party, Janajati Morcha while IPFT in its own way is trying to regain ground in the ADC areas. The aggressive campaign of the BJP and IPFT has triggered erosion in the Opposition camps.

Janajati Morcha activists organized a joining programme at Ganganagar under Raima Valley Assembly Constituency on Sunday. In presence of Janajati Morcha leaders, as many as 17 voters from Tipra Motha and CPM formally joined BJP in the programme.

BJP-IPFT-Tripura-JanajatiThe new entrants vented frustration and disillusionment over the functioning of the Tipra Motha and CPM. According to them, the BJP-led government can only ensure the holistic development of the Janajati society.

Meantime, taking a cue from Ampi, IPFT also held a joining programme at Barabari area under Gandachhera sub-division on Sunday. Under the leadership of local MLA Dhananjoy Tripura and other leaders, IPFT is desperately trying to make inroads in ADC areas once again before the Assembly Polls. IPFT received a humiliating poll drubbing in the last ADC elections and conceded grounds to newly floated Tipra Motha.

In its attempt to regain the lost ground, IPFT leaders are working and getting some sort of success. In Barabari joining programme, a total of 60 voters from Tipra Motha and CPM joined the saffron camp.

A visibly upbeat Dhananjoy Tripura said disillusionment among the opposition supporters is palpable as the Opposition parties have failed to address the plight of indigenous people. Disgruntled opposition supporters are joining the IPFT – and well before Assembly polls, the IPFT would emerge as a major force in ADC areas, Dhananjoy Tripura asserted.
