More 101 Business Correspondents of Tripura Grameen Bank introduced

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated 101 Business Correspondent (BC) centers – business support centers-  of Tripura Grameen Bank (TGB) virtually on Monday (Nov 28).

 

Chief Secretary J K Sinha, Tripura Grameen Bank (TGB) Chairman Satyendra Singh and other officials were present at the inauguration ceremony.

 

TGB-BCs-Tripura-CM“The new facilities will strengthen the banking service in the rural parts of the state”, Dr Saha commented after formally inaugurating the new Business Correspondent (BC) centers.

 

Tripura Grameen Bank (TGB) – the bank started its operations in the State in 1976 - has already reached remote areas of the state through 148 branches and 16 mini branches (USB). Earlier, TGB had 222 BCs in the State which increased to 323 with the introduction of more 101 BCs today.

 

Among the newly introduced 101 BCs, the highest - 22 BCs were opened in West District, 14 in Sepahijala District, 12 in Gomati, 16 in South Tripura, 9 in Dhalai, 16 in Khowai, 7 in North Tripura, 5 in Unkoti District.

 

This BC system lists services like Aadhaar, Money Deposit, Balance Enquiry, Account Transfer, SHG Transactions, Passbook Printing, PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY etc. This will benefit the customers from suburban to remote areas of the state. These services will be provided from 8 am to 8 pm.

 

With the emphasis on SHG activities by the State Government, the BCs will benefit the SHG members, in particular the women members of the SHGs.

 

The Chairman of TGB assured that the services provided by the bank would be enhanced after the inauguration of these new centers.
