Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday praised and motivated the Multi-talented Tripura girl, Puhabi Chakraborti for her innovations and also for her involvement in sports. Tripura Chief Minister congratulated her and encouraged.
Puhabi Chakraborti of Tripura is one of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) awardees with whom Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted via video conference on Monday.
Motivating and interacting with Puhabi Chakraborti, the Prime Minister enquired about her COVID related innovation. She also informed the Prime Minister about her fitness app for sportspersons. The Prime Minister asked about the support she receives from the school, friends and parents in her endeavour. He asked about her method of balancing her time for sports as well as developing innovative apps.
Hailing her achievements, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted, "Proud Moment For Tripura, Puhabi Chakraborti receives 'Rashtriya Bal Puraskar' from Hon PM Shri @narendramodi Ji. Many congratulations to her. Much gratitude to Hon PM & Union Minister Smt @smritiirani Ji for uplifting the moral of the children through 'Rashtriya Baal Puraskar. Young Puhabi has been innovating to help COVID-19 patients. Congratulations to her on winning the Rashtriya Bal Puraskar in the field of innovation."
Puhabi as a kickboxer, won 2 gold and 1 bronze medal for India in the Wako International Kickboxing championship. This prompted her to develop an AI based application 'AthleteX:- for the Atmanirbhar Athlete' an app which makes athletes perform better physically and mentally by performing injury detection scans to accurately detect injuries and performs metal health scanning using deep learning, AI, Artificial-Neural-Networks, and other Machine learning tools.
Her project was one of the top 20 winners for Intel AI for youth program for the year 2021.
Puhabi is currently an Intern in SSU, California USA under Prof. Farhamand where she is developing software to control a spirometer which helps in providing adequate amount of oxygen and gas mixtures to COVID patients and eases their difficulty in breathing. She is also an intern at the University at Buffalo, New York, USA working on machine learning based cyber security under Prof. Ziming Zhao.
Tripura girl, Puhabi published her first patent at the age of 13 for 'Device for alkaline water purification through banana stem filter' and hopes to invent many more systems for the betterment of her country and its people. Puhabi's hobbies are to do Karate and read scientific papers in her free time.
Puhabi loves to donate money and she will give 50% of her prize money which she will get from the Bal Shakti Puraskar to PM cares fund. Puhabi is inspired by Indian Nobel Laureate like CV Raman and physicist like S.N.Bose and hopes to win the Noble Prize in Physics in the future. She also hopes to become a professor so she could impart her knowledge in science to the younger generations.
