Santirbazar striding forward taking advantages of CSS, State Govt schemes

Local administration of Santirbazar in South Tripura is making progress to ensure welfare of the common people by taking advantages of different Centrally sponsored and State Government schemes.

 

While housing facility to eligible beneficiaries is emphasized, the administration is equally stressing on attaining self-reliance through SHG formation. Keeping in mind the importance of cleanliness and hygiene for public health, administration is using the Swachha Bharat Mission. Besides, Assistances were extended small scale traders and vendors to help them.  

 

In the 2020-21 and 2021-22 financial year about 2,277 houses have been sanctioned in Santirbazar Municipal Council area under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Out of this, construction works of 1,708 houses have started while construction works of around 1,312 houses have been completed.

 

In line with the State Government’s emphasis on SHG, around 38 Self Help Groups have been formed under the National Urban Livelihood Mission and 17 SHGs have received loans from different banking agencies with the active help of Santirbazar Municipal Council.

 

Around 648 shopkeepers have been covered with free insurance under the Santirbazar Municipal Council area through Mukhyamantri Swanirbhar Yojana.

 

Financial assistance has also been provided to the street vendors of Santirbazar Municipal Council area. Each of the 249 selected beneficiaries received Rs. 1000. Besides, Rs 10,000 loan was also provided to 97 nos. of street vendors under PM Street Vendor's Atma Nirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme.

 

As far as hygiene is concerned, under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) about 497 toilets have been constructed under Santirbazar Municipal Council area.
