A 15-year-old girl who was abducted 13 days ago has been rescued from Bangladesh. The girl, from Anand Chaumuni area of Madhupur police station in Tripura, was allegedly lured out of her house on the fateful day by a youth of different faith from the same area and taken away by force in a car.
When the girl did not return home that night, her family became worried and searched for her everywhere, but to no avail. They later learned that the youth of different faith had abducted her.
The girl's family filed a written complaint of abduction with Madhupur police station against the accused abductor. However, the police were reportedly unable to trace the girl even after several days.
In the meantime, on Monday, the girl's family and Hindu Jagran Manch activists gheraoed Madhupur police station demanding to know why the police had not been able to rescue the girl despite so much time having passed. However, the investigating officer of the case was unable to give a satisfactory answer.
On Monday night, the Hindu Jagran Manch informed Kamala Sagar Mandal of the ruling BJP about the matter. The Mandal leaders immediately took action and started gathering information from various parts of the state as well as Bangladesh.
Finally, on Tuesday morning, information was received that the girl was being held captive in Bangladesh. Upon receiving this news, a joint initiative was reportedly taken by Kamala Sagar Mandal and Hindu Jagran Manch to contact Bangladesh, and the girl was brought back to the state on Tuesday afternoon from Bangladesh via the border.
The girl was brought to Madhupur police station from the border area of Kamala Sagar and handed over to her family members. The girl's family expressed relief at getting their daughter back after so long and thanked the Hindu Jagran Manch and Kamala Sagar Mandal officials.
