Tripura News in brief: NSV camp at Gomati Hosp; BSF celebrates Raising Day

NSV camp at Gomati Hosp on Dec 3

 

In an attempt to control population growth, a ‘No Scalpel Vasectomy’ (NSV) camp will be conducted at Gomati district Hospital for male sterilization. The camp will be held on December 3 next at the hospital.

General surgeon of the hospital, Dr Biswajit Pal said, the NSV is a standard modern method for permanent sterilization for males. It is a safe procedure done without the use of a knife or surgery. There is no need to use anaesthesia upon the patient and patients need not to admit to the hospital. Besides, the procedure does not affect the marital life and daily work capabilities of the patient.

 

BSF celebrates its Raising Day

 

Along with the other parts of the country, the 57th raising day of BSF was also celebrated across the state of Tripura. To mark the occasion the 130-Bn of BSF at Gokul Nagar in Bishalgarh Sub-division has organized various initiatives.

As part of the programme, a Cyclothon was held among the women constables of BSF on Wednesday. Total 26 women constables of BSF were commenced their journey from the BSF head-Quarters at Salbagan in Agartala and ended at the Camp of 130-Bn of BSF in Gokul Nagar.

Later, the participants of the Cyclothon were felicitated at the Camp.  

While addressing the gathering, the DIG of BSF- Bhagabat Singh highlighted the benefits of cycling as part of the workout.

Among others, Commandant of BSF Head-Quarters in Salbagan- Amit Singh, 130-Bn Commandant- Ram Kumar and 200-Bn Commandant R. N. Mishra were present in the programme.

Moreover, a quiz competition was held along with the students of various schools under the Bishalgarh Sub-division on Tuesday as part of the celebration.
