Tripura doctors bring laurels

 

Eminent doctors of Tripura, Dr Pradip Bhowmik and Dr Atanu Ghosh have brought laurels for the State as both of them have been formally made fellow of Cardiological Society of India (FCSI) – a prestigious body of heart specialists.

The announcement was made at the 73rd Conference of the Society in Hyderabad on Friday. Over 1000 specialists from the country and abroad attended the conference and deliberated on multiple issues pertaining to cardiology.

Both Dr Bhowmik and Dr Ghosh were felicitated with FCSI for their contributions in discipline of cardiology.

 

Govt committed to deliver Justice to all: Dy CM

 

In an attempt to deliver justice to all, the incumbent BJP-IPFT government has stressed the need to set up District Courts – and accordingly, steps have initiated, said Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Saturday.

He was addressing a gathering after laying foundation stone of the Sepahijala District Court at Bishramganj today.

“It is necessary to have a district court in every district. The present government, after assuming power, has started working on setting up Courts in districts”, Dev Varma said and reiterated the government has accorded priority in prompt justice delivery to all citizens.

Among others, Advocate general Siddhartha Sankar Dey, Judge of the Tripura High Court, Justice Subhashish Talapatra, Judge of Sepahijala District and sessions Court SB Dutta and DM of Sepahijala Vishwasree B, IAS were also present in the foundation stone laying programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Talapatra said, in a democratic country, judicial system has a crucial role. In a populous country like, number of cases is huge. As a result, establishment of District Court is necessary.
