Tripura : SFI hits streets, slams BJP on crime against women, Law & Order situation
The students’ wing of the Leftists, SFI in Tripura slammed the BJP-led Tripura Government and held a mass protest prgramme in Agartala alleging deteriorating Law & Order situation, increasing drug addiction and crime against women. The SFI activists also criticized the role of the Tripura Police and exuded confidence that people would democratically oust the ‘fascist’ BJP government in upcoming Assembly Polls.
Speaking to the reporters, SFI Central Committee member, Baishali Majumder alleged ‘unprecedented’ rise in atrocities and crime against women including the children during the last 4.6 years of BJP regime. She also claimed that in some of the cases BJP leaders were involved.
"The much-hyped slogan of ‘Beti-Bachao-Beti Padhao’ by the BJP should be corrected to ‘Beto Bachao-BJP Hatao’ as under BJP governance, no woman is safe in the state”, she added.
Majumder also came down heavily on ruling BJP over the law and order and alleged, “We have seen that in the last four years, this BJP government has converted this state into jungle raj. There is no rule of law, people are panicked owing to relentless attacks on Opposition party workers in particular the CPIM supporters. Every day across the state, women and children are constantly coming under attack and facing torture. BJP leaders are now involved in murder and rape incidents”.
Even as SFI remained vocal against the BJP over crime against women and attacks on Opposition, the students’ wing staged a demonstration to put pressure on the government for restoration of law and order in Tripura.
The SFI leader also claimed people have become disillusioned with the ruling party and are ready to defeat the ‘fascist’ BJP in 2023 Assembly polls.
